Our full and complete privacy policy can be found at www.freemans.com. This abridged version details what will happen to your data if you apply for employment with us.

Freemans PLC together with Grattan PLC make up Freemans Grattan Holdings (FGH) who are jointly the controllers for the personal data we have about you and the people who are responsible for keeping it safe and using it legally.

We process your data in accordance with the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 along with other privacy laws because processing is necessary to fulfil a contract with you or as part of steps to create a contract with you, because there is a legal obligation upon us or because it is in our legitimate interests. Where we need your consent to process data we will ask you clearly for that consent and provide a means for you to easily withdraw that consent at any time.

The sorts of information that we collect will include personal details including your name, address and date of birth, financial details and your employment history.

We will use your data to consider your suitability for the vacancy you have applied for and other vacancies you may be suitable for. This will require us to collect your CV, cover letters and details of your employment history, along with referee details.

Your personal information is held securely by our HR Team and potential recruiting managers and we will retain it for six months unless you ask us to do otherwise. During that six months we may contact you about other opportunities in our organisation unless you make clear that you do not want this to happen.

You have the right to a copy of the information we hold about you and the right to ask us to correct any information we hold that is wrong. You can also ask us to delete some of your data or to have that data given to you in a portable format. You can also object to how we process your data or ask us not to process it in certain circumstances. You can also ask to have any decisions made automatically about you by a computer to be reviewed by a person.We process your data on the lawful basis that we are negotiating whether to enter into a contract with you at your request.

In addition to the information we collect from you, we sometimes receive your data from recruitment agencies or similar organisations.
